Originally a Civil War-era
farmhouse, the Gatehouse at Sleepy Creek sits on 24 secluded
acres of woods and meadows at the foot of the Sleepy Creek
Mountain. The property is on a bend of the Sleepy Creek, and
perfect for swimming, fishing, canoeing, tubing, or just an
easy hike.
Wildlife
abounds (deer, raccoons, fox, turtles, crayfish, groundhogs,
birds of every sort, including hawks and turkeys, and all
sorts of other critters), but civilization is only five miles
away in Berkeley Springs. The country's oldest spa,
Berkeley Springs offers fine restaurants, shops, a thriving
art community with galleries and festivals, a cinema, a
community theatre, as well as its famed warm springs. The
nearby Cacapon State Park has a famous golf course, a swimming
lake and beach, hiking, tennis, volleyball, and horseback
riding.
Enjoy nature at its best
only a short drive from the
Washington D.C.-Baltimore area!
The Gatehouse is
rented as a unit to one group only for the night, weekend, or
for the week. Feel free to wander through this site to get
