Wildlife abounds (deer, raccoons, fox, turtles, crayfish, groundhogs, birds of every sort, including hawks and turkeys, and all sorts of other critters), but civilization is only five miles away in Berkeley Springs.  The country's oldest spa, Berkeley Springs offers fine restaurants, shops, a thriving art community with galleries and festivals, a cinema, a community theatre, as well as its famed warm springs. The nearby Cacapon State Park has a famous golf course, a swimming lake and beach, hiking, tennis, volleyball, and horseback riding.
